		<description>I agree with the gut feelings of the author of that post in that not that many people have been fired over blogs. I almost posted about this myself on my blog, but I&#039;ll use your comments as my soapbox. :)

I don&#039;t think as many companies as were surveyed really have people actually reading emails for analysis, or have that many people fired for blog/board postings. It&#039;s an IM company giving the survey, most likely to companies who are already clients and thus a bit more concerned about email/messaging/blogs. And I bet the number of rightfully fired people due to postings is far smaller (I bet there&#039;s a lot of grey area or overly strict policies that a reasonable employee wouldn&#039;t think is fair). And so on...

At any rate, this is why I don&#039;t talk about my current employer directly, ever. In fact, only people who know me IRL in this area know where I actually work. (Although careful bloggers watching the IP I use during the days may deduce it...of course!) :)

FYI, today was a nicely technical day of links! Too bad Darknet is filtered at work (lame!).</description>
