I'm confident that Esperanto hasn't failed, as you suggest, although it is not above criticism. I've just returned to the U.K. from a visit to Malta where I was able to use Esperanto, of course. To my mind Esperanto is a remarkable success story. From the ideas of one man some 125 years ago, it has grown into a marture self-perpetuating worldwide speech commnity, thanks to grassroots support.

I'll live it to people better qualified than me to comment on syslog.
